Roy was up early this morning as he has to leave us and head home for Pennsylvania. So we plan to keep in touch and he said he had so much fun that where ever we go again, he wants to come too. We figure Roy was such a lucky guy to just fall into a group like he did. But we figure we were lucky too cause our motorcycle disasters stopped. This morning all 9 of us on bikes left the lodge to meet Jerry and Chris and their friends from Oklahoma City. We went to the Colonial House restaurant for breakfast. From there, we are going to the Badlands. We stopped in Scenic, SD where everyone got to "go to jail" and we visited the local bar with the motorcycle seats and sawdust floor.
Next stop is the Interior for some photos and another local bar. Ricky found some fellows from the UK and struck up a conversation.
We're now heading into the interior of the Badlands were there is not much of anything but rock. It gets cold at night and really hot during the day. We stopped for some photos and Dennis shot some as he drove along. Next stop, the famous WALL DRUG.
When we reached Wall, we all filled up with gas and broke up to shop and get some lunch. We decided to all meet up at the Badlands bar at 4pm.When everyone was ready to leave, it was time to sing happy birthday to Allen. He is 49 again he says. As long as I've known Allen, he has been 49 and that has been 4 years or more.
It's 55 miles to the Rapid City Harley Davidson. Yes, Shirley needs more parts. So that is where we are going and then we'll go home.
Phil had put on a roast in the crock pot this morning for dinner but somehow when we walked in the door, no one was hungry any more. Seemed it kinda burned. So he improvised and salvaged what he could.
Dennis, Ricky, and Dion all sneaked out to go find Allen a birthday cake. We had brought candles. Well the store was closed but they did find a 7-11. Since Allen had declared that he was not a "white boy" anymore, he was now "MR. PINKSTER", Ricky found a package of pink sno-balls and brought it back for the Pinkster! We called Mr. Pinkster upstairs to a birthday celebration of sno-balls.
